Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

probation early termination

Where can I find the information regarding early termination for probation? Does this happen automatic or must I file it with the courts? If so, what process should I take?

Re: probation early termination

It depends on how you were initially sentenced. Sometimes your attorney can negotiate a sentence that includes an "automatic early termination at the half-way point" assuming you've completed all the terms and haven't got in any new trouble. If that was not done, then you usually have to file a Motion with the Court and set it with the Judge's assistant. You will need to go before the Judge to request an early termination of your probation. It helps if you have an attorney and/or something from your probation officer stating that you've completed everything. Re: probation early termination

In South Florida it is common practice for attorneys to file the motion for early termination about half way through your probation sentence.

If this case is anywhere in South Florida I will help you for a reasonable fee.
