Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
If someone punches another person just once and the person that was punched was told by the police if you want to press charges you will have to go to the state attorney, what happends next ? will they arrest you or serve you papers to appear in court ?

If the state attorney, not the alleged victim, wants to press charges then the person who punched the other could face battery charges. Depending on the seriousness of the offense and the prosecutor's discretion, it could range from a summons to appear in court to an arrest warrant.
