Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I have a question about a case. I am being accused of having sex with a minor and the detective called me and says I have to go in for in interview and so she can read me my maranda rights. I told her I dont have anything to say about the matter and that if they were going arrest me they would of already. They only have the story of the girl and no physical evidence. The detective is telling me that I have to come in or they will get me in the streets and detain me. It sounds like it might be a setup and that they just want me to go so she can arrest me. My question is this... Do I have to go and see the detective or can I just avoid her? Do I have to go and can she detain me? Is she just trying to scare me to come in? Thank you and your advice is greatly appreciated!

It sounds like they will attempt to get a confession out of you, then, whether they get a confession or not, they will arrest you at the police station. Under no circumstances should you ever speak to the police. You should say nothing other than, "I want a lawyer." If they have a case, they'll come and arrest you. Nothing you can do about that. Don't help them by going to see them.

DO NOT TALK TO THE COPS! DO NOT GO TO THE POLICE STATION! If they do detain or arrest you, let them read your Miranda rights, then tell them you will not talk to them and you want a lawyer. You are absolutely correct-they either have enough to arrest you already and do not need your statement, or they do not. Do not voluntarily give them the hammer and nail to shut your coffin.
