Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Question about murder case

My boyfriend has been found guilty of first degree murder and attempted robbery (with no evidence, no proper investigation of case). During the trial, the two attorneys were about to rest their case, then all of a sudden a suprise witness was brought in. He was a trustee who claimed that he overheard my boyfriend tell another that he was able to get the witnesses for the prosecution to change their stories to help him. Based on his testimony alone they found him guilty. He also had another charge, Posession of a handgun by a convicted felon, that was later dismissed due to lack of cooperation from the witnesses and no gun (it states on the court site as ''nolle prosequi''). Since the last charge was dismissed or ''nolle prosequed'', can the other two convictions be overturned? Will that help his appeal?
