Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Hello. I have a question. I know a person who is with a man who sells drugs. Marijuana in particular. They recently had a child. If this man gets caught. With a few pounds at the most, what would happen to this woman and her child? Could she possibly lose the child for living with him? How long would he go to jail for? Could she go to jail too? What are the consequences for that crime. For the father who sold it, and the mother who lived there? Thank you.

She could be charged directly as possession and/or trafficking can be charged as constructive - ie the person knew of the presence of the substance and had the ability to control it. If charged, she could likely face an investigation from the Department of Children and Families especially if illegal substances were found in the home.
The consequences depend on a host of factors but since there is a possibility of felony charges prison is a likelihood.
