Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

The question is in relation to the state of FL.

Is there any motion one can file or anything one can do, either while in prison or once released, to have some of the time taken off the probation sentence... or have the probation dropped all together? Do things like "positive contributions back to society" make a difference at all in this?

Thank you

No. That's part of a sentence that was either negotiated or handed down solely by the judge. In order to modify or appeal the sentence, there is a very short time frame after the sentence in which to file the appropriate paperwork. A person can't have part of the sentence lowered, particularly if its the probation and the person hasn't even started the probation.

However, many judges will entertain a person's motion to early terminate from probation, usually after half of the probation is served, but whether it is granted is up to the judge.
