Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I have a question about stolen property.

My daughter stole my laptop out of my home about a week ago, she has a drug problem, so she sold the laptop for drugs I believe. I called the police and had her Baker Acted, they found her at one of her drug friends homes and arrested her. They held her for 3 days, as that is as long as they can hold you on a Baker Act. She was released and her friend came and picked her up. I agreed to drop the charges if she told my where the laptop was, she informed me it was at her friends home where she was, and said they bought it from her for $200.00. I took my daughter over and asked for the laptop, they said they never had a laptop. So I called the police and had them come to retrieve my property, Well the police came, the man told the police that they never had the computer, the 2 police officers did a quick search of the home and said that it was not there. Is that all they can do? Am I just out of luck?

The man seemed credible when he said he has never seen the computer and I think the police officers believed him over my daughter. This is the fourth time this has happened, the three other times I was able to get the computer back by threatening police involvement, but not this time..this guy is a little smarter than the other ones were. Now I know what your thinking...My daughter needs help...and I need watch my pc a lot closer. So again..Is there any further action I can take? Or is it just my daughters word ( which is not exactly credible) against this mans word?
