Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Questioning

a detective from the sheriffs department called my son and wanted to question him regarding a burglary fro May 2008. She would not give any information and would not tell him whether he is a suspect or a witness, just that his name was brought up in the situation. Should he go in to speak with her? Should he have an attorney?

Re: Questioning

well it depends really. Was he involved in a burglary in May of 2008? If he was then an attorney would be very much advised. If he just knows of someone involved and he cannot be implicated then having an attorney is really up to him. At the end of the day, he doesn't even need to show up for questioning absent a subpoena.
