Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I was recently given an item as compensation for my work by management of an establishment. The owner of the establishment (different person) contacted afterward claiming I stole it. What do I do?

Start writing down who could verify it was given to you as a gift. Because even though something was given to you; you must have had a reasonable expectation that the person was authorized to do so. Otherwise the argument could be made that you took it knowing you had no legitimate right to the item.
