Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I am a registered sex offender.I have been out of jail now for 13 years...in them 13 years I managed to get married and I have three kids (9,11,18) I served my time I did 30 months and 5 years probation.Now that I am try to live my life the harder it gets, To start what would you tell your son or daughter do you tell them that your dad is a sex offender that's why you dont have any friends. I would like to no if there is a double jeopardy clause because being on the reg makes not only my kids pay for what I did my wife and my family's name?I just would like a second chance to prove that I am a good man and I just made some bad choice's...

Let me begin by saying congratulations on turning and keeping your life on the straight and narrow as they say. Unfortunately, this is not a double jeopardy situation and I don't see the law on sex offenders changing any time soon. I realize the unfairness of it and I wish the law allowed for situations like yours but I don't see any legislator willing to change the law anytime soon. Sorry, but continue to know that you are a good man.
