Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I was in a relationship and lived with my partner for 3years. After an arguement one night I left and stayed at my parents to avoid further altercation. When I came home the next morning I found the apartment we lived in trashed. Everything you could think of was broken and destroyed: Everything I owned was thrown in to the living room and broke: Furnature, Tables, Dog cage, Everything from the bathroom cabinets, Pictures, MY laptop, MY hair straightener, MY fishing pole rod snapped in half, MY clothes had red soap poured on them. The apartment literally looked like a tornado hit it. He even opened the door and threw my dog outside loose to roam the streets at 4am. He stated he blacked out and doesnt remember doing it. I called my father and he came over immediately after I saw the damage. I was driving around trying to find my dog and eventually found posters with a sign "Found Dog" with a picture of my dog. I contacted the guy and did get my dog back. I kept the sign of my dog and still currently have it. I also took pictures of the apartment and the damage to my belongings. My dad stayed with me at the apt as i gathered my damaged belongs. My ex boyfriend told me he would replace my belongings and I have text messages screenshots of our conversation where he said he would get me another laptop. I have the receipt for the laptop and I still currently have the laptop in pieces. He now refuses to repay me for my damaged items is there anything I can do?
He also stated in a text that he was going to pack up the rest of my belongings and bring them to me. He has kept some of my property that was not damaged and will not return it to me. I purchased a Bose sound system speakers on MY personal credit card and I have the receipt for this item. He also has taken a dirt bike that I paid $2000 cash for and the title was in my name and/or his name. I have the bank receipt that is dated the same as the dirt bikes bill of sale showing the cash was withdrawn out of my personal bank account. I also have the receipts from the tax collectors office showing I paid the taxes and put this dirt bike in my name. He also has my paintball gun ,but I do not have a receipt for this because it was a gift over 10yrs ago. How can I recover my items from his possession?

You need to talk to a civil lawyer who can sue to recover your items.
