Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
A relative was given durable power of attorney for grandmother who is deceased. There was alot of money we suspect was stolen. How do we investigate? How do we start a criminal investigation?

Hi. There are a couple things you can do. Criminal prosecution is handled by the state attorney's office in the particular judicial circuit. You can contact them to see if they are willing to investigate and bring ciminal charges. There are laws in place to protect the elderly. You can also open a probate estate and bring suit against the relative in the probate court.
