Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
rent property
I rent a home and got a letter stating not to pay rent due to the owner running a money laundering scheme and he was being brought up on federal charges. The man that i signed my contract with left his card on the door. i called and he said that they can start collecting rent again as long as it isn't for a profit. the previous contract is null and void supposedly. what happen to the deposit. I want to know that the new contract is going to be legit and that they are allowed to start collecting rent again. I want to protect myself and family

You need to take the letter and contracts to a lawyer and have him or her review them. It's difficult to advise you without reading the paperwork and knowing more about this situation.
