im being rep by a public def who is also rep the victim in my case isnt this a conflict of interest?

Sounds like the answer is yes. The PD will eventually drop one of you and send you to their conflict attorney. You are also free to hire your own attorney.

More than likely there is a conflict. I suspect the PD will move to withdraw.
