Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Reporting a crime in Florida
I am a Minnesota beneficiary to a my father's Estate (in Florida). It has recently come to our attention that substantial fraud & embezzlement has taken place with regard to the handling of the estate by the trustee.
These acts include conversion of trust funds outside of the trust agreements, filing false documents with the courts, and failure to file real property deeds which granted the beneficiaries the property - in order for the trustee to take the property.
We do have an active civil action in Minnesota. What law enforcement authority in Sarasota County would we contact to open up an investigation regarding this theft and fraud?
Thank you in advance.

Contact the police in the area where the crime occurred; and-or the local prosecutor's office, regarding reporting a crime.
