Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Restition
I was convicted of fraudulent use of identity about 2 years ago. The fines and restitution equal $13,000. I have paid about 4,000 of it so far, however, by July 2007 I have to have the remaining portion paid off. I do not have the funds to pay this off. Will I be put in jail? How can I get more time to pay this off? Please offer some advice for me.

If you fail to pay they will violate your probation if they can prove you had the money but didnt pay. I would hire a lawyer and ask for more time to pay

You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.
It all depends upon the court. I would hire and attorney and then have the attorney file a motion to allow additional time. You will have to set forth the reasons why the payments have not been completed to avoid having your probation violated.
Whatever you do, don't ignore this issue as may end up being jailed as a result. Whatever it may cost, your freedom should be well worth it.
