Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
restitution confusion
In March I was arrested for an outstanding warrant for an FTA back in November 2005.In April my husband turned himself in on the same warrant. We were both charged in one case as defendent and codefendent.
The charges were failure to return rental furniture.(Dumb move on our part but for good reason.)
In May they split us up and gave us seperate court dates. In the beginning of August I pled out and agreed to probation and restitution.I argued the amount so they sent out a notice to get the restitution amount. In October at the restitution status check they deleted my restitution because there was no response.
At a seperate court date in August my husband also agreed to probation and restitution but he did not argue the amount because he just wanted to end court. At his pre-trial the judge turned around and added joint and several with codefendent(me).
Now I am confused. If my restitution was deleted would that delete the restitution that I am joint and several with?I am confused on how to handle this.
