should rights have been read to friend
my friend was park and approached because he did not have lights on in his car. he had a friend that had drugs in his car and they left the scene and he was charged because it was in his car. they did not read him his rights. Should they have read him his rights before he was placed under arrest?

No the police do not have to read a suspect Miranda unless they are interrogating him. In some cases Miranda is never read.
