Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
rights to my son discovery
my son is charged with double homicide it is a death penalty case he is being reoresented by publicdefender.he told them to give me everything in his discovery so I could help.they gave me some and now stopped saying I am a state witness and they are not allowed,It is my sons wish for me to have everything can they refuse me?

There is no rule which says you cannot have a copy of the discovery just because you are listed as a witness. On the other hand, there is no rule which says they have to give you the discovery, either, even though your son requests it. Nothing prevents your son from giving you a copy of what he has, though.
