sealing or expunging a criminal record
can a petit theft conviction be sealed or expunged?

it depends on what you mean by "conviction"
If you recieved a "withhold of adjudication" and that is your only prior conviction, then yes.
if you were "adjudicated guilty" then the charge cannot.

Not if it was a summary offense. If it was held for court and dismissed you may be able to have the record expunged but Magisterial District Judge's dockets are a matter of public record.
