sentenced to 18 months
my husband was just sentinced to 18 months in d.o.c.
i know that they only do some of that time. how much time will he do?

Some types of charges don't allow for gain time, but most do. Most inmates can collect as much as 15% off their sentences with proper behavior. Certain actions, like getting a degree, can also add to gain time. Things that almost never happen, like saving the life of a guard, can cause even more than 15% to come off the sentence.

You can figure 16 months approximately minus any time he had in the county jail.
