Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I was sentenced to prison time for violation of probation. I was given an extension of my probation before the original term was up. In my extension I violated my probation (technical). Should there have been an affidavit for violation of probation before the judge can extend my probation? There was never a violation. He gave me an extension cause I wrote him a letter. Was the extension done illegal?

The timing of probation matters can be complex. It sounds like it may be legal due to the extension BEFORE your term was up. There are a lot of factors though, so I suggest you talk to an attorney in your area to give more details to be sure.
