What would the most likely sentencing be for first time ofense misdemeanor retai

I am 39 and was arrested for retail theft 17.00 dollars. This is my first arrest and would like to know what would be the likely sentencing. There is no arrainment I just have to appear in court to see the judge.

It depends in what county you reside in.

In Palm Beach County there is a first time offender program where Defendant's are sentenced to a one day program and community service.

I would have to concur, at best your are looking at Pretrial Diversion. I would be sure to ask if you are eligible at your arraignment. Assuming you are charged with misdemeanor pertit theft and it was for $17.00, the worst case scenario you would be facing is six months probation.
