Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

sentencing

There was a trial in West Palm Beach, that a child mulestor was convicted to 2 capital charges and 3 felonies, which were 1capital=25 years no chance of parol, and 1-felony=5 years so all together it was 50 years no chance of parol, and 15 years. My question is the judge said it was consecutive what does that mean? What is th difference between consecutive & Concurring in law?

Re: sentencing

Concurrent means that the sentences will all run at the same time. Consecutive means that the sentences will run one after another. When one runs out THEN the other will start. This consecutive sentencing is really bad news for your friend, but perhaps an issue might exist that the sentence is illegal. Check it out. GOOD LUCK...
