Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

i served a 10 year sentence in prison for drug sales a judgement was 200, 000 dollars i am disabled vet.and it may be possible for me to buy an acre of land and a mobile home for me and my family. can the court take any thing i own in my name? i have not applied for a pardon yet and havent heard from the judgement but the V.A. might loan me the money for the property. the V.A.has to deal with me. not my wifes name. any way out of this? i have no assets at all. thanks del hood

I don't think you'll have trouble buying it, but you may have trouble selling it, without the 200,000 lien being attached. The pardon, if it ever happens, may not have any effect on the judgment anyway. You can also wait 20 years and the judgment can be removed.
