Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Sexual Offenders' Registration
My father was found guilty of sexually abusing my sister and me about 20 years ago. If he was found guilty, shouldn't he be on the ''sexual offender's list''? And how can I get copies of the files from the hearing if the case was closed permanently?

Re: Sexual Offenders' Registration
There was no registration requirement 20 years ago, so he is not required to register. You can look at the case at the clerks office, but its probably either destroyed or on microfilm.

No your father is exempted from this list because he predated the effective period for the list.
