Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I was shoplifting at walmart the value was $20.00 they stoped me before I got out of the store and retreaved the item. They will not prosecute that I was told but said I would have to pay a restitution charge of $50 up to $200.00 when I receive the letter in the mail. What is restitution based on in this case?

They are going to ask for $200. You can pay it if you want, but make sure there is a promise of no prosecution. The $200 is less than the fines/court costs would be. If they prosecute, I say don't pay it, but then you leave yourself open to a lawsuit.
