Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

A shutter contractor said that he would get certification from the manufacturer of material used as waterproofing of our condo so as to allow that work would be done properly and all warrantees would be valid. He did not get certification and work was not done properly. If the problem is not corrected, the outside of our condo walls will eventually peel and damage could reach $1,000,000.

Has the contractors done anything that is criminal, or is the only remedy civil?

You need to sit down with an attorney to see if there was anything criminal although, unless the contractor was unlicensed, I don't see anything based on your description. You should talk to a civil attorney to be sure.
