Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Hi. My sister recently had a party at her house. There were several ages of kids there ranging from 15-22 years old. She was given a ticket for "having an open house party" and is due in court soon. Just wondering if this is a misdemeanor or if it will be a fine or what could come of it? She has gaming license for dealing cards and is afraid she may lose it. Also do you think child protective services may get involved considering her daughter was home and there the night of the party and is 16 years old?

It is probably a local ordinance violation. You should talk to an attorney. While these are usually punished by a fine, it will end up being a criminal conviction on the record. Therefore, seek an attorney in your area.
