Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I am in a situation that a bad decision in the past made it into the newspapers. I was involved in a drug raid four years ago because of the guy I was dating at the time. I not saying Im blameless but I have moved on with my life and completely turned it around and I am about to finish college. I completed probation and had adjudication with held so I got my record sealed this past year. Three of the four websites dropped the story out of their online bank but one still remains. This comes up when my name is googled and because of this I cant move on with my life and I cant find a job to support my daughter. I am a fighter and I am trying so hard to do the right thing and I cant seem to get past this blip in my life. I tried writing the webmaster begging for mercy but I did not get an response.

My question is do I have any legal standing in getting this article removed since I have had my record sealed. I understand new is news and this is the problem of the web and I did the crime I have to do the time but I feel like I am doing a life sentence. Also if I do what kind of lawyer would I hire to take care of something like this?

Best Regards

Shawna

As you probably figured out by now, a sealing only applies to government agencies and not private reporting agencies. As the law is now, they have no legal obligation. Often they will require you to pay a fee to have it removed, if you show them that your record has been sealed. Try a criminal defense attorney in your area to help you. Not all will handle something like this but some will. Good luck.
