Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
There was a situation where a person was charged 8 years and later reduced to 5 but it was never updated. And we are trying to get it corrected but since then the judge that reduced it has retired and the lawyer who worked the case and was told directly from the judge has been promoted to judge. What can we to now to get this resolved. Thank you for your help.

Do you mean sentenced to 5 years? You need to get the transcript of the sentencing hearing. With that you can do a motion to correct the sentence. Get an attorney to help you.
All criminal proceedings are documented by either a court reporter, a digital recording or both. Secure a copy of the court's oral pronouncement of the sentence & if it is inconsistent with the sentence imposed, a lawyer can bring a motion before the court to correct the sentence.
