my son has been arrested awaiting trial for solicitation of minor to engage in sexual conduct and distribution or showing obscene material to a minor what kind of punishment could he be looking at this is first offense I am 1500 miles away and nknow no details of case would like to know best and worst case scenario

Without knowing the exact statute they are charged under, I can't give you the max penalty since there are many variations. If I guessed, I imagine the first charge is a second degree felony and the other charge is a third degree felony. That means he would face up to 15 years on the first charge and an additional 5 years on the other charge. However, this is only a guess and it could be more or less depending on the exact charge. The state will almost always seek prison time but the exact amount depends on the charge and the facts. I assume he has an attorney so you may want to ask them.
