Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My son was arrested with the possession of a hand gun
He is 17yrs old and is being tried as an adult.Accordingly I am told that there are no programs for him to get involved in. What would be the worst scenario?

Re: My son was arrested with the possession of a hand gun
The worst case scenario would be 5 years in prison (assuming it is a 3rd degree felony - Carrying a Concealed Firearm charge). If there was a discharge of the firearm, the penalty could be higher.
Because he is still a juvenile, he'll want to have an experienced criminal defense attorney handle his case as he may be eligible to be "sentenced back" to juvenile court. I'm going to assume he has a bit of a juvenile record?
If I can be of any further assistance, please contact my law office. We handle these types of cases throughout the Tampa Bay area.
