Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Does my son need an attorney
My son was charged with grand theft. He is 18. No priors. He worked for a dept. store and was fired for stealing Aug 23 06. He was advised that if he returned the items, no charges would be files. He returned all items. However, on 1/16/07 the Orange City police dept filed charges. He now has an arrainment on 2/1/07. We were notified on 1/20/07. Should he attempt to obtain a public defender, or should we obtain an attorney of our own.
