Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

My son is charged with attempted robbery with firearm, he used a fake gun, was intoxicated and does not know why he did it. Did not follow through with the robbery, no one got hurt. Has been very cooperative with the authorities and has no priors. . He is a model citizen, college graduate, Wife and 2 small children. Just bought a house.
