Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I have a son who is 18 yes old he has 3 felony charges, auto robbery, selling stolen things at a pond shop using false ID and violation of probation. He is currently on house arrest, and the state attorney are saying that he is a gang member, although he is not, his lawyer is trying to get him bootcamp but the state attorney are refusing. He is only 18 and all he has done is because of consumption of drugs, how can my husband and help and ask the judge for pity and appeal to his good heart, knowing our son Prison will only make him worse, we know he has to pay for what he did but there are other alternatives besides prison, can u advise us pls? we live in Miami, FL

Let his attorney do his job. Even if the prosecutor doesn't agree, the judge can still sentence your son as a youthful offender based on his age. This is going to be a lengthy process and it will not happen overnight.
