Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I am asking for my son whom is in jait as I speak. He wants to know what can he do or can he do anything after the fact. He said he didnot understand the maranda rights when he was being questioned by police officiers so he being scared for his life, said he was also trying to protect his girlfriend from getting badgered from the police officers and he did not understand his rights to have an attorney present at the time. He thougt since they were the law he had to speak. Now that he is in jail he has been informed by other inmates he could of hand an attorney present. He just didnt realize while under all that pressure that he could have sat there and not spoke a word. He says he was also hit during questioning, and he has a public defender whom doesnt even correspond with him he does not ever go before a judge his attorney goes for him, and he feels he has been treated unfairly/

Sorry to hear about your son. Police often use intimidating tactics when trying to obtain confession. Furthermore, courts have held that some, but not all, tactics used are actually legal. Even if he gets the statement suppressed as an illegal confession, that doesn't make the case go away necessarily. He should either keep trying to talk to his public defender or hire an attorney that will spend the time with him he deserves. Feel free to give me a call if you wish.
