My son stoled a gun and sold it to a person to buy drugs...the person he sold it to then (a couple of months later) used the same gun in a violent crime...is my son responsible for the outcome of the violent crime?

I suppose it is theoretically possible but highly unlikely. The only possible crime I could think would be some sort of reckless disregard if he knew that the person he sold it to may be violent, but even then it would be a stretch. I certainly wouldn't lose sleep over it.
