Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
In the state of Florida I was convicted as a sex offender on 06/09/92 and released 06/17/96. And got arrested 12/07/98 and released 12/01/06 for grand theft. Under the Megan Law do I have to register as a sex offender when I was released before 10/1/97?

Yes you do. The state does not view this as ex post facto and merely "administrative" requirement. In other words, I'm afraid there is no way around it at this point.
