Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

State's intent to enhance penalty

In a felony case I had back in 2003, the prosecution filed ''state's intent to enhance penalty''...I was given 10 months. I have since then picked up a new case, but the ''state's intent to enhance penalty'' document was not filed.

My question is the following: is this document only filed once and it applies to all other cases that come afterwards, or does the document have to be filed individually for each case in order for the penalty to be ''enhanced''

Thank you.
