Is there a statue of limitations on arrest warrants?for minor felonies

There is a time limitation for the commencement of prosecution on felonies. That time limitation is defined by statute (the "statute of limitations") and will depend on what kind of crime it is. If there is a warrant but the defendant was never originally arrested, then prosecution has not yet commenced and therefore the warrant must be served within that time frame. The State can get additional time if the defendant were continuously absent from the state or if law enforcement were diligent in their search for the defendant.
