Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Stealing
I got caught stealing a shirt at value of $80.00 from Macys in Miami, Florida. The police did not arrest me and he let me off with a warning. Although he let me go, he did say that I might recieve a court appearance letter from Macys...what should I expect from this?

Re: Stealing
If you were indeed allowed to leave without arrest OR some sort of notice to appear, then it appears you escaped criminal prosecution, unless the State decides to file at some later date. If you were to receive a court appearance specifically from Macy's, it would be a civil matter. Double check that warning and just make sure its indeed a warning and not a notice to appear.
