Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
My stepson is on 2 years probation in Florida for several felonies, not sex crimes. His brother lives in Michigan, is working, and is willing to help him get on track in Michigan. Unfortunately he also has several felonies, but is not on probation anymore. Would this prevent the transfer of probation under the interstate compact? In other words, does the receiving family member have to have a clean background?
Thanks.

Transfers are done on a discretionary basis so this is handled case by case. It does not necessarily prevent a transfer.
