Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I am being stonewalled by the UCF Police when I ask for records pertaining to me and a trespass warning they have against me. They are citing Florida State Statute 112. I thought 119.07 gave me the right to these records?

You should have the right to know if you have a trespass warning. File a 119 public records request with the department, they must respond to your request.
I have experienced similar problems in the past with this very issue. Some of our local law enforcement agencies take the position that if there is an ongoing criminal investigation that they are not obligated to provide you with the information you seek and they direct you to the State Attorney's office for the information. If you have an attorney, they should be able to handle this for you. If you are not represented by counsel and need some assistance, please feel free to call my office at (407) 657-1555.
