Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Hello From Stunguny Florida,
Thanks for your service. An employee stole ~5000 and my personal phone sim card to ruun up a $1900 bill from my retail store. The cop that took the report
said that in FL, even 3 dollars if stolen from an employee is a felony. Please be so kind as to verify and/or tell me where I can look it up.
Best regards,

The officer is not correct. Although attorneys often refer to certain criminal actions as "employee theft," there is no separate statute with regards to an employee's theft from an employer. However, the amount you are referring to does make the theft a felony offense because the theft is over $300.
