Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
Can I sue for wongful arrest?
I was sitting in my car in a public park on March 9th 2009 talking on the phone when police showed up after a suspicious person complaint. They asked me if I had any weapons in the vehicle and I told them yes that my handgun was in a holster in the very back of my truck (which is legal in Florida) as I was moving all of my belongings to another location. It took them 20 minutes to find my gun and I was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. The charges were dropped against me on arraignment. Do I have grounds to sue them for my legal costs and spending a day in jail for no reason?

yes, you most likely have a good case against the Police. I have just taken on a similar case where my client was arrested for no reason. I would like to discuss further. you can contact me 24/7. All My Best, Joe Vredevelt, The Cochran Firm. 305.670.3119.
