Being sued
i was recently caught stealing something at wal mart by their loss prevention team. they took my information down and let me leave. almost two mounths later i get i letter in the mail from their lawyers stating that if i dont pay them $200 they were going to file a civil claim against me. what should i do?

You can pay them the $200 and they will be satisfied, or don't pay it and they will take you to small claims court. At court they will have to show proof that you stole an item worth $200. Your case is interesting because if they caught you stealing, then there really should be no retribution (i.e. $200 that they lost). My offices are in Miami.
