Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
I was given a summons for worthless check (offense date 12/11/05) this morning after a traffic stop. The charge filing date was 04/03/07. This is in State of Florida where I have lived for the last 32+ yrs., so finding me even changing addresses a few times should not have been too hard ie: car registration, voter id etc. The statut of limitations for this(1st degreee misdemeanor) is 2 yrs. I found on the internet some support for this. Does this Fl. statute 775.15 apply in my case? Thanks in advance

Yes I believe I saw this question on Avvo as well. The statute does apply but as I stated there, you need to review your case with an attorney in order to do a motion to dismiss.
