You can get an attorney to fight for you. You have a right to a speedy trial and that right can be invoked at any time in the proceeding. But be careful because the state can sometimes prove its case without this witness. I practice criminal law in Miami and have seen the prosecutors go ahead on a case based on 911 tapes and officer testimony many times. You have to be careful when demanding a trial because you might just get one that is not to your advantage. If you would like to discuss your case free of charge you can contact my office at 305.284.8000. All My Best, Joseph Vredevelt, The Cochran Firm.
