I have an temporary injunction for protection against dating violence filed against me. what does this mean for me what rights do i have?

First, it means stay away from and don't contact the person who filed against you. Second, there should be a hearing date listed for you to go and fight the injunction if you desire. Last, it means you have to take all the firearms in your possession, including your house, car, etc., and turn them over to another person or to the sheriff's office (unless you are active military or a law enforcement officer). You should also now talk to a lawyer about your other rights and obligations and how to defend against the injunction.
